Generic Pioglitazone (Pioz Tablets) - Product Information

Generic Pioglitazone HCl 15mg (Pioz Tablets) is used along with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus either alone or in combination with a sulfonylurea, metformin, or insulin.
Pioglitazone tablets (Pioz 15 mg), must not be used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, since it exerts its antihyperglycemic effect only in the presence of endogenous insulin. Hence it would not be effective to treat patients with Type 1 diabetes mellitus.

This the cheapest Generic Pioglitazone without insurance.   We also have in stock Generic Glucophage (Glycomet Tablets) which is also used along with diet and exercise in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

What is Generic Pioglitazone (Pioz Tablets by USV) Used For?

The active ingredient present in Pioz 15 mg is called Pioglitazone Hydrochloride. It may be taken alone or with other diabetes medicines. This medicine is used in treatment of diabetes along with diet and exercises to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is an medical condition where the body does not make enough insulin, or the insulin that it makes doesn't work properly. This can cause high blood sugar levels (hyperglycaemia). Pioglitazone tablets help to control your blood sugar levels by helping your body make better use of the insulin it produces.

Is There A Generic For Pioglitazone (Actos)?

On August 17 2012, the FDA approved generic versions of Actos (Pioglitazone Hydrochloride), a once-daily oral tablet for the treatment of type 2 diabetes originally sold by Takeda. Several companies sell generic versions of the drug. Pioz Tablets by USV Limited, India is also a generic version of this medication.

Use caution when using in patients with a prior history of bladder cancer.
• Hypoglycemia: When used with insulin or an insulin secretagogue, a lower dose of the insulin or insulin secretagogue may be needed to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
• Macular edema: Postmarketing reports. Recommend regular eye exams in all patients with diabetes according to current standards of care with prompt evaluation for acute visual changes.
