This is the most common form of acne which is characterized by inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin lesions, including blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. Active Ingredient present in A-Ret Gel

The active pharmaceutical ingredient present in A-Ret Gel is Tretinoin. A-Ret Gel contains Tretinoin in either of three strengths 0.025%, 0.05% or 0.1%. Each gram of A-Ret Gel contains 0.25 mg (0.025%), 0.5 mg (0.05%) or 1 mg (0.10%) Tretinoin in a translucent to opaque, pale yellow topical gel.

What Is Tretinoin Gel Used For?

A-Ret Gel (Tretinoin 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.1% Gel ) is used to treat acne or other skin diseases as determined by your doctor. It works partly by keeping skin pores clear. Tretinoin Gel is also used to treat fine wrinkles, dark spots, or rough skin on the face caused by the damaging rays of the sun. It works by lightening the skin, replacing older skin with newer skin, and slowing down the way the body removes skin cells that may have been harmed by the sun. Tretinoin works best when used within a skin care program that includes protecting the treated skin from the sun. However, it does not completely or permanently erase these skin problems or greatly improve more obvious changes in the skin, such as deep wrinkles caused by the sun or the natural aging process.

A-Ret Gel (Tretinoin Gel) - Dosage

A-Ret Gel (Tretinoin Gel) should be applied once daily, before bedtime, to the skin where acne lesions appear, using a thin layer to cover the entire affected area. Tretinoin Gel should be kept away from the eyes, the mouth, paranasal creases, and mucous membranes. Application of excessive amounts of gel will not provide incremental efficacy.
Please consult your doctor for exact dosing instructions. tablets (Generic tablets) should be administered in the dose prescribed by the doctor and for the duration recommended by the doctor.

How to Use A-Ret Gel (Generic Tretinoin 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1% Gel)

A-Ret Gel should be applied once daily, before bedtime, to the skin where acne lesions appear, using a thin layer to cover the entire affected area. Using more medicine or applying it more often than prescribed will not make it work any faster, and may increase but may increase the risk of skin irritation. Do not use for longer than your doctor has prescribed. Before applying, the area under treatment (not just clinical lesions) should be thoroughly cleansed with a mild soap or cleanser, and dried. Wash your hands before and after applying it.

Wait at least 20 minutes after washing the area under treatment before applying a thin layer of the medication. Applying the gel to wet skin may cause skin irritation. Do not wash the treated area for at least 1 hour after applying this medicine. Applying an excessive amount of gel may result in "pilling" of the medication. If this occurs, use a thinner layer of gel with the next application.

It should be used as part of a complete skin care program that includes avoiding sunlight and using an effective sunscreen and protective clothing.

Use A-Ret Gel for as many days as it has been prescribed for you even if you think it is not working. Therapeutic effects may not be seen until 6 to 8 weeks after the start of treatment. Treatment should normally be continued for three months. During the first few weeks of using Tretinoin gel, your acne might appear worse because the medication is working on pimples forming inside the skin. It may take up to 8 to 12 weeks to notice results from this medication.
If undue irritation (redness, peeling or discomfort) occurs, patients may use a non-comedogenic moisturiser as needed and should reduce frequency of application or temporarily interrupt treatment. The normal frequency of application should be resumed once the irritation subsides.
Treatment should be discontinued if the irritation persists. Call your doctor if skin irritation becomes severe or if your acne does not improve within 8 to 12 weeks.

Missed Dose Instructions

Use A-Ret Gel as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and wait until your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not apply extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Therefore, in such cases, pregnancy testing should be carried out in women of childbearing years.

A-Ret Gel During Pregnancy

Tretinoin gel (A-Ret gel) has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category C. There are no well-controlled trials in pregnant women treated with Tretinoin gel. Thirty human cases of temporally associated congenital malformations have been reported during two decades of clinical use of Tretinoin gel, 0.1%, 0.05% and 0.025%.

Nursing Considerations

It is not known whether Tretinoin gel (A-Ret gel) is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when Tretinoin gel is administered to a nursing woman. A risk to the newborns/infants cannot be excluded. Therefore, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug taking into account the benefit of breastfeeding to the child and the benefit of the drug to the mother.
