Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets) is used for the treatment of major depression, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Generic Lexapro Tablets is used for acute as well as maintenance treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adults as well as adolescents aged between 12 to 17 years of age. It is also used for acute treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). The active ingredient present in S-Citadep tablets is Escitalopram Oxalate. Each film-coated tablet of S-Citadep contains Escitalopram oxalate equivalent to 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg of Escitalopram.

Uses of Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets by Cipla)

Escitalopram anti anxiety pills are prescribed to treat anxiety in adults and major depressive disorder in adults and adolescents who are at least 12 years old. Escitalopram Oxalate is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression or anxiety.

Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets) - Dosage

How to Use Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets)

Take S-Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram) with a glass of water once daily, with or without food. Take the S Citadep tablets at the same time for as long as they have been prescribed. You may have to take this medication for a long period of time depending on your condition. Your doctor may increase your dose, depending on what you are being treated for.

Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets) - Contraindications

Generic Lexapro (S-Citadep Tablets) is contraindicated in patients with the following conditions:

• A known hypersensitivity to Escitalopram Oxalate or Citalopram or to any inactive ingredient present in S-Citadep tablets.
• Serotonin Syndrome and MAOIs: Do not use MAOIs intended to treat psychiatric disorders with Escitalopram or within 14 days of stopping treatment with Generic Lexapro. Do not use S-Citadep tablets within 14 days of stopping an MAOI intended to treat psychiatric disorders. In addition, do not start Generic Lexapro in a patient who is being treated with linezolid or intravenous methylene blue.
• Pimozide: Do not use concomitantly with Generic Lexapro.

Escitalopram Oxalate Side effects

The common side effects observed when undergoing treatment with Escitalopram Oxalate (S-Citadep tablets) are dry mouth, increased sweating, headache, paraesthesia, dizziness, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, indigestion, abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, influenza-like symptoms, fatigue, abnormal dreaming, lethargy, insomnia, somnolence, decreased appetite, decreased libido, yawning, rhinitis, sinusitis, ejaculation disorder, impotence, anorgasmia and menstrual disorders.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction:
• skin rash or hives
• difficulty breathing
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat

• very stiff (rigid) muscles, high fever, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, overactive reflexes
• nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, feeling unsteady, loss of coordination
• headache, trouble concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or breathing that stops

Less serious side effects may include:
• drowsiness, dizziness
• sleep problems (insomnia)
• mild nausea, gas, heartburn, upset stomach, constipation
• weight changes
• decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm
• dry mouth, yawning, ringing in your ears

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have taken too much of this medication. Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, tremor, sweating, rapid heartbeat, confusion, dizziness, seizures, and coma.
 

Warnings & Precautions When Using Escitalopram Oxalate Tablets (S-Citadep)

Do not take anti-depressant S Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram) if you are using an MAO inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), or selegiline (Eldepryl or Emsam). Serious and sometimes fatal reactions can occur when these medicications are taken withS Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram). You must wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAO inhibitor before you can take S Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram) and you must wait at least 14 days before you start taking an MAOI after taking S-Citadep tablets(Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram).

Before taking S-Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram), tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have:
• liver or kidney disease
• seizures or epilepsy
• bipolar disorder (manic depression)
• a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts

If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take S Citadep (Generic Lexapro, Escitalopram).

You may have thoughts about suicide when you first buy anti-depressant pills and start taking, especially if you are younger than 24 years old.
